Connecting to COCC's VPN Service

COCC's VPN (Virtual Private Network) service is used to provide secure access to network resources which can not otherwise be safely made available for use over the internet or via COCC's wireless service.

Configuring Your Computer to Access COCC's VPN Service

To configure your Windows XP computer for access to COCC's VPN you must download and install the COCC VPN connectoid as described in the below instructions. Windows Vista and later operating systems are not currently supported.  Macintosh users please click here.

  1. Save this file (coccvpn.zip) to a location on your local hard drive.
  2. Extract the contents of this ZIP file so that it's contents can be accessed.
  3. Run (double-click) the COCCVPN.EXE file to begin the installation of the COCC VPN “connectoid” object.
  4. Follow the displayed installation instructions.

Using COCC's VPN Service

Connecting

  1. VPN Connectiod IconDouble-click your COCC VPN connectoid.
    • This connectoid was created when your machine was configured as described above.
  2. Enter your user name. (your COCC email address)
  3. Enter your password. (your COCC email password)
  4. Click the Connect button.

NOTE: Since general internet access is not available within COCC's VPN service, opening your browser to your normal home page will likely display an error. To access COCC's VPN services type http://www.cocc.edu/vpnlogin in your browser's address bar once opened.

Disconnecting

To disconnect for COCC's VPN double-click your COCC VPN connectoid and select Disconnect.
