Windows Updates

COCC's ITS department is now automatically installing critical windows updates onto all COCC staff and faculty workstations.

Restarting Your Computer

If an installed update requires that your computer be restarted a message will inform you of this after the update has been installed. If this happens please restart your computer at your earliest convenience since not doing so will prevent the update from taking effect on your computer.

Notification That Updates Are Available

Image of Windows Update Notification balloon displayed from the Windows TaskbarWhen an update is ready to be installed you may see an update alert at the bottom right of your screen similar to what you see here. If you ignore this message the updates will be automatically installed early the following morning. If you would like to install the updates right away or if the update message continues to appear implying that the updates are not automatically being installed you may click on this pop-up and follow the installation instructions or contact COCC's Helpdesk for assistance.
