What training is desired?
Based upon the results of the Spring 2004 IT Survey training was most requested to be provided in the following areas. (full training list from survey)
- Web page development: So far in 2005 training has been provided for Web Accessibility, General Web Administration and Faculty Web Administration. More sessions will be offered and requests for specific topics and/or sessions are welcomed.
- Blackboard: In-person training is offered each term and this practice will continue. Extensive online tutorial information is also available here. If you have additional ideas please email .
- Microsft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Calendaring: Planning for this training will begin this summer. Some general usage documentation is also available online at http://programs.cocc.edu/Microsoft+Products.
- Banner: Training is offered regulary as needs come up, however requests for areas with specific training needs would help ensure our needs are well directed.
Training Formats
Requests for training included being more department and/or need focused. In most cases to date training has been offered openly with the hope of attracting all faculty and staff with a common "need" for the information. Department focused training is possible and will be concidered more heavily moving forward but will likely depend upon receiving requests from departments about topics of interest.
More Training Ideas
ITS also created and presented a "Technology Tidbits" training session during Fall 2004 and 2005. As topics come up and interest is shown will plan to repeat and improve on this idea.
If you have requests for specific training please email with the topic and include some basic information about the audience that you would like to see the training offered to.
