Shutdown your workstation when leaving for the day

  • Although locking your workstation provides security against walk-up use, turning off your workstation ensures that the computer will not be accessed over the network... not to mention saving power.

Maintain a secure password

  • Change your password periodically.
    • How? Press CTRL-ALT-DEL simultaneously and select Change Password.
    • Note changing your network/workstation password also changes your OWA password.

  • If your password is very simple such as a pet or child's name, consider changing to a more complex password that is less likely to be guessable.

COCC also has a number of additional applications and processes in place to help increase workstation security Campus wide. Click here for more information about these security procedures.
