Lock your workstation when not in use
- Lock your workstation whenever you leave.
- How? Press CTRL-ALT-DEL simultaneously and select Lock Computer.
- Or, configure your machine to use a screen saver that will lock your workstation after a period of inactivity.
- How? Right click on the desktop and select Properties, then the Screen Saver tab. Select a screensaver and turn on the "On resume, password protect" option. (sample configuration)

Shutdown your workstation when leaving for the day
- Although locking your workstation provides security against walk-up use, turning off your workstation ensures that the computer will not be accessed over the network... not to mention saving power.
Maintain a secure password
- Change your password periodically.
- How? Press CTRL-ALT-DEL simultaneously and select Change Password.
- Note changing your network/workstation password also changes your OWA password.
- If your password is very simple such as a pet or child's name, consider changing to a more complex password that is less likely to be guessable.
