Start Menu Appearance Settings
If
a computer was like a book, the Start menu would be its index.
Almost every program and setting can be accessed from this menu.
You can display the Start Menu in either Windows95 or WindowsXP style. At first glance, they look dramatically different, but on closer inspection, you will find they are very similar. The only big changes the XP look brings are:
- The start menu is two columns instead of one.
- The left column has a “recently used programs” list. It's like “recent documents” list but displays the last six programs you ran.
Changing the Start Menu properties:
- Right click “Start” button
- Click on “properties”
- Click on “start menu” tab
- The two choices are listed. If
you want, click on the “customize” button and you can fine tune the
settings on the start menu. Most of them are self-explanatory.
